Re-design of furniture restoration company website. Previous website was flash based and the client required a greater control over SEO. Running on wordpress and fully utilising it’s SEO capabilities as well as the Woothemes SEO extensions.

Additional photography was requred and I’m also in the process of recording video footag of the different techniques the client uses and will be editing this into a video for the homepage soon.

I’m having a go at building set pieces for a Dune film based on the books. I thought I’d start by doing a faithful update to the intro of the only adaptation I enjoyed. Since the new film is, allegedly, beginning production soon I’m going to try and make this my pet project and see how it comes out. Rain, Rain and more Rain

In the spirit of pure irony all this sunshine in New Zealand has made me miss home in the strangest of ways. I needed a bit more practice with Particular so tried this effect. I also found a Binaural recording of a stormy, rainy night so if you have headphones give it a go. Might need to find a louder section in the 30 minute recording but for this I think it works well.

Some of the effect is lost in compression so I’m going to do some trial and error and see whats the best I can get on Vimeo.

My best friend on my travels has to be my new Canon 500D. I’m loving getting back into photography and really getting a chance to see what digital has to offer after spending all those years with film. I’m waiting on the arrival of a nice ultra wide angle lens at the moment so in the mean time I was having a dive into some ‘HDR’ techniques. The below shots are composed of 3 exposures and without a tripod.

Our fourth digital release on Pest Control is from big Alex Fisher and true to his off the wall style the Afro Bug was born. I got the chance to do the artwork on this release so after speaking with Alex it was clear the only thing to do was push the funk right out and have a bug with an afro! Deep development I know.

We’re hoping to do a video for one of the tracks in the coming months, which I’m hoping to base on footage from forgotten blacksploitation gems.

It’s always good when you find a web app that takes the time out of updates and posting content. I’ve started using SoundCloud throughout the Pest Control site and shop. Apart from a great embeddable player and stat reporting the latest community features push new content to all the big social networks. The Crossing

The Crossing was a 5 day flotilla event attracting over 12,500 people at locations from Fort William to Inverses in Scotland.
